When we exchanged rings, we hoped our family of two would grow.
It has, into a family of 4. We're just split in half.
Two of us walk the Earth while two of us fly in Heaven.

Advent 2014

Follow along with our Advent celebrations here! Curious as to what this is about? Keep reading.

What is Advent and why are you participating?
Advent is a season observed in many Western Christian churches as a time of expectant waiting and preparation for the celebration of the Nativity of Jesus at Christmas. The term is an anglicized version of the Latin word adventus, meaning "coming". {Wikipedia}

As a kid growing up, we had the cheapy lil advent calendars that you could get at almost any shop, the one chocolate a day kind. Those were all well and good for a kid to count down the days until Christmas. We also did the paper chain countdowns. As an adult living in Australia, chocolate will not last in our summer Christmas craziness. I decided a few years ago to do something different for Advent. I decided to find a list of different Names of God and see where they came from in Scripture. Here we are today! I've used my own well worn well loved Bible, the New Revised Standard Version, for these images.

Check back daily for a new Name and Scripture reference to meditate on during this expectant Christmas season.
